Accelerated Training for New Grads in Emergency Medicine

CARE is accepting applicants for its accelerated program designed to train new graduates in emergency medicine. Our program is a 12-month intensive training initiative that combines the best of an internship and a conventional job.

The hallmarks of CARE’s program are mentorship and a strong curriculum. During the first half of the year, the intern experiences intensive training with the direct supervision of an experienced emergency doctor. Case logs and regular meetings with the program coordinator will assure that the intern is seeing a variety of challenging cases and gaining experience in emergency procedures and surgeries. Once the intern has gained sufficient experience and knowledge they will see cases independently but with readily available mentorship. Throughout the year they will have didactic rounds with emergency clinicians and specialists as well as present cases and give rounds for our technician interns. In exchange for this comprehensive training, the accelerated trainee would commit to spending two years at CARE as an emergency clinician after completing the program. We believe this program is a ‘win-win’ for new graduates, who desire an internship-like experience but with better compensation, and for our staff, who enjoy teaching and are excited for the opportunity to train new graduates that are interested in a career in emergency medicine.

CARE is a privately owned specialty and emergency hospital with the mission of promoting a work culture that fuels a passion for service, collegiality, and fun. Our staff has a commitment to creating a culture where everyone, from customer service representatives to hospital owners, strives to be excellent at their job while supporting their colleagues. Our collaborative culture is one of our strongest attributes and a cohesive approach to patient care throughout the hospital is our focus. A daily dose of laughter and a sense of community while at work is a must. The specialists that work to support the emergency and ICU teams include internal medicine (2), cardiology (3), neurology (2), oncology (2), surgery (3), and ophthalmology.
